Snacks are very varied, including potato potato chips, crisps, roasted nuts, crackers, pretzel sticks and sweets. They offer flavors that can be sweet, sour, bitter, salty, savory, metallic and spicy. And the visual properties of snacks are just as different as their taste.
The surface of the samples is usually uneven, sometimes speckled with salt or spices and can rarely be measured at specific points. The measurement techniques vary depending on the type of snack, which usually includes coarse-grained, inhomogeneous and irregularly shaped food products.

Application example:
Bei Snack-Food ist es wichtig sicherzustellen, dass das Instrument über eine große Beobachtungsfläche verfügt, denn so kann die Probe in verschieden großen Probentellern oder in einer Petrischale einfach unter dem Sensor platziert werden.Am Beispiel von Nüssen, werden die Proben wie Schüttgüter gehandhabt und in großen Probentellern aus der Charge entnommen, danach unter dem Sensor des Aeros platziert und gemessen. Dabei ist darauf zu achten, dass der Boden des Tellers immer komplett bedeckt ist.
